Midwife Training

At disAbility Maternity Care, we understand the significance of midwife training in providing comprehensive maternal care, especially for individuals with disabilities. Our specialised midwife training programs offer an in-depth understanding of how to support and care for expectant parents with various needs. Why should you select our midwife training program at disAbility Maternity Care?

● Holistic Approach: Our midwife training emphasises a holistic approach to maternal care. We equip midwives with the knowledge and skills needed to provide personalised support to individuals with disabilities during pregnancy, childbirth, and the postpartum period.

● Inclusivity: Inclusivity is at the core of our midwife training. We teach midwives to create an inclusive environment where expectant parents with disabilities feel welcomed and empowered to make informed decisions about their care.
● Adaptive Practices: Our training includes adaptive practices, ensuring midwives can cater to the unique requirements of each individual. This includes addressing physical accessibility, communication, and emotional support.
● Patient-Centred Care: We emphasise patient-centred care in our midwife training, encouraging midwives to listen actively to the needs and preferences of expectant parents with disabilities. This approach fosters trust and cooperation throughout the maternity journey.
● Reducing Stigma: Our training also focuses on reducing stigma and discrimination against individuals with disabilities. Midwives learn to challenge stereotypes and provide respectful, unbiased care.
● Community Building: Midwives trained by disAbility Maternity Care become part of a supportive community. They can connect with others who share their dedication to providing inclusive maternal care.

Our midwife training program is designed to empower midwives with the knowledge and skills necessary to offer exceptional care to individuals with disabilities.
