Women With Disability

Welcome to disAbility Maternity Care, your trusted source of support and resources for women with a disability during their journey to motherhood. At disAbility Maternity Care, we understand the unique needs that women with disabilities face during pregnancy, childbirth, and early parenthood. We’ve curated a large selection of content to specifically cater to women with a disability, addressing their concerns, offering guidance, and fostering a community of like-minded people who can relate to their experiences. We recognise that evidence-based research is limited in this field, so we strive to bridge the information gap for women with disabilities.

At disAbility Maternity Care, we believe in the importance of inclusivity and representation. That’s why our platform features personal stories and testimonials from women with a disability who have successfully navigated the challenges of pregnancy and motherhood. These real-life accounts serve as a basis of inspiration and reassurance for other women with a disability who may be embarking on a similar journey. We understand that healthcare providers may not always be well-equipped to address the unique needs of women with disabilities. That’s why we offer resources to help them advocate for themselves in healthcare settings. Through informative articles, webinars, and events, we empower women with disabilities to actively participate in their care and ensure that their specific needs are met.

In addition to our online resources, we collaborate with organisations and healthcare professionals specialising in maternal care for women with a disability. We aim to foster a network of support that extends beyond our platform, connecting women with disabilities to qualified professionals who can provide the specialised care and guidance they require. Whether you are a woman with a disability embarking on the journey to motherhood or a carer seeking information and support, disAbility Maternity Care is here to be your trusted partner every step of the way.

As parents, knowing you are not alone helps you to get through those challenging times. Sharing stories also helps us feel connected. If you would like to contribute a story, please contact us here.
